Shailene Woodley is an American actress and activist. The film The Descendants, she played Alexandra King, an addicted teenager. In addition to the praised performance during The Descendants, Shailene has performed several roles which showed off her talent for portraying tough characters easily. Shailene managed to get an important position in the film industry early in her career. This is itself an accomplishment. Her career began in television and commercials, prior to moving into Hollywood movies. Many awards have been won by her for her outstanding acting. They include MTV Movie Awards as well as People's Choice Awards and Teen Choice Awards. Other prestigious awards such as the BAFTA Awards and Golden Globe Awards were also presented to her. In addition to being a top performer, Shailene Woodley is also an environmentalist and activist. Together with her mom, she cofounded All it Takes as a nonprofit organization in 2010. The organization was awarded the Entertainment Industry Environmental Leadership Award in recognition of co-founding All it Takes at the Global Green Environmental Awards' 20th anniversary in the year 2016.
