AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) plays as an attacking player. She also serves as the captain of the San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the highest level of professional women's soccer. From 2018 to 2020, she was a co-captain of the US women's national soccer team together with Megan Rapinoe. [8][98][9] Morgan was selected number one in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she had graduated from the University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her debut with the club and assisted the team win their league championship. Morgan was 22 years old at the time and was the youngest player on the national team in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team finished second. At the 2012 London Olympics Morgan scored the winning goal in the 123rd minute of the semi-final clash against Canada. She ended 2012 with 21 goals and 28 assists along with Mia Hamm as the only American woman who scored 20 goals and score 20 assists during the same calendar year . making her the sixth and youngest U.S. player to score 20 goals in a single season. She was subsequently named U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of the Year and was a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan played a role in helping to help the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. Morgan was also included in the Dream Team. In 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
